STEPHEN KING delighted with the new science fiction horror on Hulu. “Brilliant, daring, and scary.”
Stephen King, as is his custom, expressed his opinion on another film on Twitter. This time, he focused on a recently debuted horror science fiction movie, which is now available on Hulu.
The film in question is No One Will Save You, starring Kaitlyn Dever. In the description, we read:
“No One Will Save You” introduces Brynn Adams (Kaitlyn Dever), a creative and talented young woman who’s been alienated from her community. Lonely but ever hopeful, Brynn finds solace within the walls of the home where she grew up–until she’s awakened one night by strange noises from decidedly unearthly intruders. What follows is an action-packed face-off between Brynn and a host of extraterrestrial beings who threaten her future while forcing her to deal with her past.
King wrote on Twitter that the film is brilliant, daring, involving, and scary. He added that to experience something similar, one would have to go back 60 years to the episode “The Invaders” from “The Twilight Zone.” The author concludes that the film is unique.
NO ONE WILL SAVE YOU: Brilliant, daring, involving, scary. You have to go back over 60 years, to a TWILIGHT ZONE episode called "The Invaders," to find anything remotely like it.
Truly unique.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) September 25, 2023
Not everyone is as impressed as King, though. On Rotten Tomatoes, the horror film has a 79% positive rating among critics (with an average score of 6.9/10). Interestingly, it performs less favorably among audiences, with only 59% of viewers giving it a positive rating.
In critic’s consensus we read:
A home invasion thriller with an extraterrestrial twist, No One Will Save You serves up more genre fun from writer-director Brian Duffield — and proves Kaitlyn Dever doesn’t need much dialogue to command the screen.
